Kitchens, Furniture and Fittings
Our kitchens are based on a simple 18th/19th Century style. It should be considered that fitted kitchen furniture was rarely if ever found before the late eighteenth century and even then usually only in stately homes. However, fitted cupboards and shelves can be found and therefore can be used as a basis for the design process. Dressers, tables, benches and other stand-alone furniture complete the picture.

The work top around the sink is made from reclaimed Burmese teak.Teak is extremely hardwearing, waterproof and after just a few coats of Danish oil, has a smooth satin finish. Sloped drainer grooves have been fitted toward the double Adelphi sink fitted with Cardinal mixer tap in chrome.
This Kitchen is built with solid oak door fronts with solid european redwood carcassing. The shelves are made from prime grade Russian redwood from the White Sea. Pine has antiseptic properties which make it eminently suitable for these tasks.
The bench is made from hemlock and pine, aged and then waxed.
The table top is made from pitch pine which renders it waterproof.
